A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON ACCEPTING THE ART DONATION OF A
BENCH CONSTRUCTED FROM RECYCLED WIND TURBINE BLADES FEATURING
BNSF-THEMED RAILWAY SAFETY ART, FROM NOBLEWINS, LLC; AND PROviDrNG
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton’s Donations of Public Art policy outlines the City of
Denton’s policy guidelines for accepting art donations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the Public Arts Committee to serve as the
committee responsible for evaluation, discussion, and recommendations regarding donations
with said recommendations submitted to the City Council for consideration and approval; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton and Denton Parks and Recreation have established a
commitment to sustainable reuse, of which this project is an emblematic representation; and
WHEREAS, the Public Arts Committee recommends acceptance of the donation of a
bench constructed from decommissioned wind turbine blades featuring BNSF-themed art related
to railway safety from Noblewins, LLC. in accordance with the policy guidelines; NOW
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES :
SECTION 1. The findings set forth in the preamble of this Resolution are incorporated by
reference into the body of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to accept the donation in conformity
with this Resolution.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
The motion to approve this Resolution was made by Jill Jester and seconded
by Joe Holland. This Resolution was passed and approved by the following
vote [ 7 - 0 ]:
