SUBJECT
Consider the adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton granting Denton Parks Foundation
a noise exception for the Dog Days of Denton event on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Quakertown Park and the Civic Center Pool; and providing an effective
date.
BACKGROUND
This annual dog-friendly event invites attendees to purchase tickets for exclusive access to the
Civic Center Pool with their pups, along with a lively festival featuring games and activities for
both dogs and their humans. Proceeds from the event support the City of Denton’s Lily Cantu
Inclusive Playground project.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval.
