I retired from Garland Fire Dept. in August 2016 after serving for 36 years. I held every position from entry level firefighter in January , 1980, Driver, Lieutenant (including as Fire Inspector), Captain, Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief, and Fire Chief. Garland Fire Dept. is ruled by Texas Civil Service Law, which I became very familiar with as our governing law. I understand the importance of the Civil Service Board and its application to the members of Fire and Police. I would be honored to serve as a commissioner on the board. Sincerely, Ramond Knight
