SUBJECT
Consider the adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton granting Ganesh Immersion, a noise
exception for the Ganesh Immersion event on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30
p.m. at North Lakes Park; and providing an effective date.
BACKGROUND
This event recognizes India’s cultural and religious tradition celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha.
The accompanying immersion ceremony signifies devotion, gratitude, and the ceremonial
conclusion of the observance.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval.
