HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-278S Wm Night Tum L ttg Ew ORDINANCE NO of livl —all `r/ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING ANY DRIVERS FROM TURNING RIGHT ON RED FROM LOCUST STREET ONTO MCKINNEY STREET, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION 1 When signs or markings are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall turn right when facing a steady red light upon the following street in the City of Denton On Locust Street at its intersection with McKinney Street SECTION 2 That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton, not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, shall remain in full force and effect SECTION 3 That if any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable SECTION 4 Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) SECTION 5 That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record -Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage PASSED AND APPROVED this the 1A /� day ofda_> 2001 EULINE BROCK, MAYOR 5 dour oocvmmueW lnwo lwo Wght1 Locurl we ATTEST JENNIFER WALTERS, CITY SECRETARY BY APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM HERBERT L PROUTY, CITY ATTORNEY Page 2
