AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON REGARDING MOTOR
VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, AMENDING SECTION 18-109 TO ADD TWO DISABLED
PARKING SPACES ON CORDELL STREET, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT
TO BE LESS THAN $250 OR MORE THAN $500 FOR VIOLATIONS OF THIS
ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That Section 18-109 of the Code of Ordinances shall be further amended
by adding a new Section 18-109(a)(27) to read as follows
(27) Two parking spaces on the south side of Cordell Street, two hundred sixty-eight
feet (268) feet west of the west curbline of Fulton Street
SECTION 2 An individual adjudged guilty of any of the provisions of this ordinance or
of any portion of Section 18-109 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not less
than Two Hundred -Fifty Dollars ($250 00) and not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500 00)
SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances of the City
of Denton and shall not repeal any of the provisions of said ordinances except in those instances
where provisions of those ordinances are in direct conflict with the provisions of this ordinance
SECTION 4 That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any
court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby declares it
would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION 5 That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date
of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to
be published twice in the Denton Record-Chromcle, the official newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage
