AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR,
AUTHORIZING, AND APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF PROMOTIONAL COMMERCIALS FROM CHARTER MEDIA, DENTON,
TEXAS, PERTAINING TO DENTON MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC, WHICH ARE AVAILABLE
FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PERTINENT PROVISIONS
OF CHAPTER 252 OF THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE EXEMPTING SUCH
PURCHASES FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (PO 16581 — CHARTER MEDIA IN THE AMOUNT
OF $36,6 8)
I REAS, Section 252 022(a)(7) of the Local Government Code provides that
procure ent of certain items or services that are only available from one source, as descnbed
therein, ed not to submitted to the competitive bid process, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to purchase promotional commercial spots
pertamm Y.to Denton Municipal Electric ("DME") from the City's sole local cable provider,
Charter edia, which services are presently available from only one source, and are permitted in
accordan a with Section 252 022 of the Texas Local Government Code, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
S CTION 1 That the following purchase of services, as described in the "Purchase
Order" li ted hereon, and on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent, are hereby authorized and

S CTION 2 That the acceptance and approval of the above items shall not constitute a
contract between the City and Charter Media submitting the price quotation for such
commercials until Charter Media shall comply with all requirements specified by the City's
Purchasing Department
S CTION 3 That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute any contracts or
other re l ted documents relating to the item specified in Section 1 hereof, and the expenditure of
funds pu suant to said contract or written order, is hereby authorized
