HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-369S bur Uucummul0p�ouwe1011NOPertln3IOOP Ctt ORDINANCE NO 6901-J6 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROHIBITING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF IOOF STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH HIGHLAND STREET NORTH FOR 673 FEET, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200 FOR VIOLATIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION 1 When signs are erected giving notice thereof, it shall be unlawful for any person at any time to stop, stand, park, or leave standing any vehicle on both sides of IOOF Street from Highland Street north for 673 feet SECTION 2 An individual adjudged guilty of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances of the City of Denton and shall not repeal any of the provisions of said ordinances except in those instances where provisions of those ordinances are in direct conflict with the provisions of this ordinance SECTION 4 That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby declares it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity SECTION 5 That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record -Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date o/fM%its passage �� PASSED AND APPROVED this the �/UI day of ed&!�t , 2001 EULINE BROCK, MAYOR S Wur OacummWAN�nww�0lWOPertlng lOOPAac ATTEST JENNIFER WALTERS, CITY SECRETARY APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM HERBERT L PROUTY, CITY ATTORNEY BY i Page 2
