HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-177F\MREMER GW.l GpameMe,OMInanDee ppADpenplr A I SO Reps doe ORDINANCE NO 9000 — /77 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 34 "SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS", APPENDIX A-1 "STREET DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS TO CHANGE THE REQUIRED STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY WIDTHS FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ARTERIALS, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Denton has recommended that the required right-of-way widths for Primary and Secondary arterial streets be increased as provided for within this ordinance, and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that it is in the public interest to increase the required right-of-way widths of such streets as provided for in this ordinance, NOW, THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION 1 Chapter 34 "Subdivision and Land Development Regulations", Appendix A-1 "Street Design Specifications" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas is hereby amended in part to increase the required nght-of-way width for primary artenals to 120 feet, except that said right-of-way shall flare to 140 feet in width beginning at a point 250 feet (on both sides of the intersection) from where such primary arterial intersects with the nearest right-of-way line of a primary or secondary arterial, and b increase the required nght-of-way width for secondary arterials to 90 feet All other provisions of Appendix A-1 not in conflict with this amendment shall remain in full force and effect The City Manager or his designee is hereby directed to revise said Appendix A- 1 to conform with this ordinance E�TION 2 If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of other provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval PASSED AND APPROVED this the 16� day of �t'� 12000 Page 1 of 2 F\SMREMEPTLGL`Au'DaCumeMaWNlneocB!\OOUpPeMIKA 1 Sub Rep, doe EULINE BROCK, MAYOR ATTEST JENNIFER WALTERS, CITY SECRETARY BY 9� APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM HERBERT tom.
