HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-317S \Our Documents\0rdinances\00\adopt budget doc ORDINANCE NO M6 - 317 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 2000, AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2001, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing on the budget for the City of Denton, Texas, for the fiscal year 2000-2001 was heretofore published at least ten days in advance of said public hearing, and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the said budget was duly held on August 29, 2000, and all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard for or against any item thereof, NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION 1 The budget for the City of Denton, Texas for the fiscal year beginning on October 1, 2000, and ending on September 30, 2001 prepared by the City an and filed with the City Secretary, as amended by the City Council, is hereby approved and adopted, a copy of which budget is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein SECTION 2 The City Council hereby appropriates from available resources to the following funds General Fund $ 52,592,810 146,318,047 Electric Fund 25,228,926 Water Fund Wastewater Fund 16,429,432 Solid Waste Fund 10,345,265 1,458,546 Building Inspections Fund 1,073,760 Tourist & Convention Fund 3,473,766 Fleet Services Fund Technology Services Fund 4,569,029 Motor Pool Fund 4,606,407 1,249,158 Recreation Fund Materials Management Fund 7,886,136 Emily Fowler Fund 95,000 57,500 Police Confiscation Fund 7,652,837 General Debt Service Fund Total $283,036,619 SECTION-3 The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer the amounts of money for employee benefit and salary adjustments as contained in the 2000-2001 budget to the various departments SECTION 4 The City Manager shall cause copies of the budget to be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Denton County SECTION 5 This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval PASSED AND APPROVED this the _ day of L 2000 &� eA- EULINE BROCK, MAYOR ATTEST JENNIFER WALTERS, CITY SECRETARY AppVOVED AS TO LEGAL FORM HERBERT L PROUTY, CITY ATTORNEY Sour DocumemerANmaneaewNaGoq bWpn&- PAGE 2 Note: The 2000-2001 Annual Program of Services document is available on a CD in the City Secretary's Office.
