CONTRACT WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE PURCHASE OF OFFICE SUPPLIES
AND SIMILAR MATERIAL, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (FILE 2565
— INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF CARROLLTON)
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an
Interlocal Agreement in substantially the same form as the one attached hereto and
incorporated by reference herein for the purchase of office supplies and related materials
from an annual contract awarded by the City of Carrollton and on file in the office of the
City Purchasing Agent
SECTION 2 That the City Manager is authorized to expend funds pursuant to
the agreement for the purchase of various goods and services
SECTION 3 that this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and approval

INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into tlus 5' day of September, 2000, by and between the
CITY OF CARROLLTON, TEXAS (hereinafter called "Carrollton") and the CITY OF
DENTON, TEXAS (hereinafter called "Denton"), acting through the CITY OF CARROLLTON
duly authorized agent
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, the city of Carrollton and the City of Denton as permitted under Chapter 791 of the
Texas Government Code, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, wish to enter into this Interlocal
Agreement to set forth the terms and conditions upon which the city of Carrollton and the city of
Denton may purchase various goods and services commonly utilized by said entities, and
WHEREAS, participation in a Cooperative Purchasing Program will be highly beneficial to the
taxpayers of the city of Carrollton and the city of Denton through the anticipated savings to be
realized,
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing and the mutual promises, covenants and
obligations as set forth herein, the city of Carrollton and the city of Denton agree as follows
1 Participants will work cooperatively to provide a program for the purchase of various goods
and services commonly utilized by all participants ("Cooperative Purchasing Program"), and
under such Program may purchase goods and services from vendors under present and future
contracts
2 Participants will enter into individual contracts with vendors under the Cooperative
Purchasing Program provided for under this Agreement The participants shall be
individually responsible for payment directly to the vendor and for the vendor's compliance
with all conditions of delivery and quality of purchased items under such individual
contracts
The city of Denton may purchase goods and services pursuant to Section 791 025 of the
Texas Government Code
4 This Agreement shall be in effect from the date of execution until terminated by either party
to the agreement
5 Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, participation in this Agreement by the City
may be terminated upon thirty (30) days written notice to the other member
6 The city of Denton, in paying for the performance of governmental functions or services,
must make those payments from current revenues available to the paying party
