AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AMENDING ORDINANCE 99-034
PROHIBITING PARKING ON SCHOOL DAYS FROM 7 30 AM TO 3 30 P M ON THE
NORTH SIDE OF SUN VALLEY DRIVE FROM THE EAST CURB OF STUART ROAD TO
THE EAST CURB OF YELLOWSTONE PLACE, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE,
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED
TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. That when signs or markings are in place giving notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle on school days from 7 30 a in to 3 30 p in upon the following street in the
City of Denton
On the north side of Sun Valley Drive from the east curb of Stuart Road to the east curb
of Yellowstone Place
$F TIC ON II. That the provisions of Section I prohibiting the parking of vehicles shall
apply on school days from 7 30 am to 3 30 p in to the designated portion of the above named
street or streets except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or
in compliance with the direction of a police officer or official traffic control device
ACTION III That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the
ordinances of the City of Denton, not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, shall
remain in full force and effect
SECTION IV. That if any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person
or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or
applications, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable
SECTION V. That any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION VI. That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the
date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this
ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chromcle, the official newspaper of the
City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO 99-127 IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE
NO P G AREA ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SUN VALLEY DRIVE, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Ordinance 99-127 was passed on April 6, 1999 creating a no parking area
on the north side of Sun Valley Drive near Gmnmgs Elementary School, and
EREAS, since the implementation of the ordinance DISD has reconstructed the
school ounds and driveways so that this no parking area is no longer necessary, and
3EREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest that the no parking
should be repealed, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
That Ordinance 99-127 is hereby repealed
ECTION 2 That this ordinance shall repeal every prior ordinance in conflict herewith,
but onl3 insofar as the portion of such prior ordinance shall be in conflict, and as to all other
sections of the ordinance not in direct conflict herewith, this ordinance shall be and is hereby
made cumulative except as to such prior ordinances or portions thereof as are expressly repealed
hereby
ECTION 3 That if any provisions of this ordinance or application thereof to any person
or circumstances is held invalid by any court, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby
declare ) -that it would have enacted the remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION 4 That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage and
