The Historic Landmark Commission of the City of Denton, Texas will convene in a Work Session
on Monday, August 14, 2017at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Work Session Room at City Hall,
215 E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas at which time the following items will be considered:
WORK SESSION
1. Receive a report and hold a discussion regarding Senate Bill 1004, a bill related to the
installation of small cellular network nodes. (Ron Menguita)
Following the completion of the above-posted Work Session item, the Historic Landmark
Commission will convene in a separate Work Session for a site visit and tour of the building
located at 2218 W. Oak Street, Denton, Texas at which time the following item will be considered:
WORK SESSION- SITE VISIT AND TOUR
1. Receive a report concerning, and tour the structure located at, 2218 West Oak Street, hold a
discussion, and give staff direction regarding a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish the
structure. (Roman McAllen).
NOTE: The Historic Landmark Commission reserves the right to adjourn into a Closed Meeting
on any item on its Work Session or Regular Session agenda consistent with Chapter 551 of the
Texas Government Code, as amended, including without limitation, Sections 551.071-551.086 of
the Texas Open Meetings Act.
REGULAR MEETING
Following the completion of the Work Session—Site Visit and Tour, the Historic Landmark
Commission will convene in a Regular Meeting in the Work Session Room at City Hall, 215 E.
McKinney Street, Denton, Texas at which the following items will be considered:

A. April 10, 2016
3. ACTION ITEMS:
A. Hold a public meeting and consider an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness to
demolish the house located at 2218 West Oak Street. The site is generally located on the
north side of West Oak between Bradley Street and Thomas Street. (COA17-0003, 2218
West Oak Street, Roman McAllen)
B. Hold a public meeting and consider an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness to
construct a new home at 2216 Alamo Place. The site is generally located on Alamo Place
west of Thomas Street. (COA17-0004, 2216 Alamo Place, Roman McAllen)
C. Hold a public meeting and consider an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness to
install solar panels on the home to be constructed at 2216 Alamo Place. The site is
generally located on Alamo Place west of Thomas Street. (COA17-0006, 2216 Alamo

D. Hold a public meeting and consider an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness to
construct a stand-alone carport at 1815 North Bell Avenue. The site is generally located
on the west side of Bell Avenue between East University Drive and Woodland Street.

A. Receive a report, hold a discussion and select a Historic Property of the Month.

6. CONCLUDING ITEMS:
A. Under Section 551.042 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, respond to inquiries from the
Historic Landmark Commission or the public with specific factual information or
recitation of policy, or accept a proposal to place the matter on the agenda for an upcoming
meeting and under Section 551.0415 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, provide reports
about items of community interest regarding which no action will be taken, to include:
expressions of thanks, congratulations, or condolence; information regarding holiday
schedules; an honorary or salutary recognition of a public official, public employee, or
other citizen; a reminder about an upcoming event organized or sponsored by the
