Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center Resumes Limited Operations
DENTON, TX, Oct. 1, 2018—The Linda McNatt Animal Care &Adoption center has resumed
limited operations as of noon, Monday, Oct. 1. As part of the limited operations, the shelter has
resumed allowing cat adoptions, owner reclamations of sheltered animals, and owner surrenders.
Additionally, animal control officers will resume intake of animals captured in the field as a
clean area has been established for new animals where they will have no contact with exposed
animals.
An outside decontamination team is working with staff to professionally clean the entire shelter.
Due to the nature of the mycoplasma found at the shelter, all dogs currently in the shelter are
receiving antibiotics, and symptomatic dogs are responding well to the treatment.
Staff anticipates the shelter will be fully operational by Wednesday, Oct. 3. As a precautionary
measure, all adopted dogs will continue to be sent home with antibiotics and a disclaimer of
possible exposure to mycoplasma.
If you adopted a dog from the shelter this week and have questions or concerns, please contact
Gayla Nelsen at(940) 349-7594.
