Stakeholder Meeting Agenda- March 13 2020_RecordingsIncorporating Green Infrastructure/Low Impact Development, Open Space, and Nature-Based Systems into a Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The EPA Region 6 utilized funding from the EPA Office of Nonpoint Source Pollution to conduct a project to incorporate Green Infrastructure (GI)/Low Impact Development (LID), open space,
and nature-based systems into a community’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. EPA Region 6 selected the Texas A&M AgriLife Research & Extension Center at Dallas to assist the City of Denton,
Texas, conduct this study in the Hickory Creek watershed in Denton County, Texas.
A stakeholder meeting was held on 3/13/2020 to inform stakeholders of this project and to seek stakeholder feedback. Stakeholders provided comments on-site and virtually.
Additional presentations included the Upper Trinity Regional Water District presentation on the need to protect and preserve greenbelts in Denton County and the U.S. Corps of Engineers
– Texas Silver Jackets Fort Worth District presented an Introduction to the Texas Silver Jackets Program.
