Minutes February 09, 2001CITY OF DENTON CITY COUNCIL MINUTES February 9, 2001 The City of Denton City Council held a Special Called Meeting on Friday, February 9, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Work Session Room. PRESENT: Mayor Brock; Mayor Pro Tem Beasley; Council Members Burroughs, Cochran, Durrance, Kristoferson and Young. ABSENT: Mayor Pro Tem Beasley, Council Members Durrance and Young. 1. The Council received a report, held a discussion and gave staff direction regarding the draft Development Code, including the review of public comments, draft code policy issues, zoning map revision requests, and the options for providing additional notice for properties that would become legal, non-conforming land uses. Dottie Palumbo, Assistant City Attorney, reviewed a conflict of interest provision that would require Council to abstain from voting on zoning issues that were within 200 feet from their residence or place of business, if they owned that property. Doug Powell, Director of Planning and Development, stated that Council would be looking at planned developments at this session. Staff had made the changes suggested by Council at the prior meeting. Council discussed and made recommendations regarding zoning for planned developments. Council Member Durrance joined the meeting. Council Member Cochran left the meeting at 3:00 p.m. General consensus of the Council was to add this item to the Work Session of February 13, 2001. Council Member Durrance suggested that the Council go over Section 35.12 at the next session.
