After determining that a quorum was present, theAirport Committee of the Denton City Council
convenedin aregular meeting on Tuesday,June 11,2013,at 3:00p.m. in the City Hall
Conference Room,215 E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas.
PRESENT:
Council Member and Chair, Jim Engelbrecht; Mayor Pro Tem Pete Kamp and
Council Member Chris Watts.
STAFF PRESENT:
Aviation Director, Quentin Hix;John Knight, Deputy Attorneyand
Administrative Assistantand Recording Secretary,Julie Mullins.
OTHERS PRESENT
:None
The meeting was called to order at 3:00p.m.by Council Member Engelbrecht.
OPEN MEETING
1)Consider approval of minutes from the meeting held on June 11, 2013.
Mayor Pro Tem Pete Kamp motioned to approve the minutes followed by a second by
Council Member and Chair, Jim Engelbrecht.The motion carried unanimously.
2)Receive reports by citizens and other interested persons.
There were no reports by citizens and other interested persons.
3)Receive a report, hold a discussion and provide a recommendation regarding an
ordinance authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the
City of Denton aFirst Amendment to an Airport Lease Agreement as approved by
Ordinance 2012-236 on September 18, 2012 between the City of Denton, Texas and
HTA Aviation for the property located at 4910 Lockheed,Denton Enterprise
Airport; and providing an effective date.
Mr. Hix updated the board on the lease agreement for a first amendment to the leasefor
HTA Aviation.The original lot area was 26,055 square feet (0.598 acres) and in order to
accommodate the construction of the 10,400 square foot hangarwithout the requirement
to include a two-hour fire wall on the south end of the hangar, it is necessary to maintain
a thirty (30) foot setback from the leased lot line. This requires an amendment to the
original lease to add another 2,575 square feet to the lot on the south side of the lease.
4)Receive a report, hold a discussion and provide a recommendation regarding an
ordinance authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the
City of Denton a Three-Way Agreement between the Cityof Denton, Atmos Energy
Corporation and DCG Construction, LLC for the installation of a natural gas

distribution line at Denton Enterprise Airport, said gas line to be owned, operated
and maintained by Atmos Energy Corporation; and, providing an effectivedate.
Mr. Hix gave a update on the three way agreement between the City of Denton, Atmos
Energy Corporation and DCG Construction for the installation of a natural gas
distribution line at the Denton Enterprise Airport to serve the area west of the US
Aviation fuel farm.
5)Receive a report and hold a discussion regarding research conducted by City staff to
identify ad valorem tax revenue from business located on Denton Enterprise
Airport.
Mr. Hixgave an interim report on the research being conducted by the Economic
Development Department. A final report will be included on a future agenda.
Under Section 551.042 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, respond to inquiries from the
Airport Committee of the Denton City Council or the public with specific factual
information or recitation of policy, or accept a proposal to place the matter on the
agenda for an upcoming meeting.
AND
Under Section 551.0415 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, provide reports about items of
community interest regarding which no action will be taken, to include: expressions of
thanks, congratulations, or condolence; information regarding holiday schedules; an
honorary or salutary recognition of a public official, public employee, or other citizen; a
reminder about an upcoming event organized or sponsored by the governing body;
information regarding a social, ceremonial, or community event organized or sponsored
by an entity other than the governing body that was attended or is scheduled to be
attended by a member of the governing body or an official or employee of the
municipality; or an announcement involving an imminent threat to the public health
and safety of people in the municipality that has arisen after the posting of the agenda.
