2017-04-20 HOT Committee MinutesHOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX COMMITTEE MINUTES April 20, 2017 After determining that a quorum is present, the Hotel Occupancy Tax Committee (HO"I') convened into an Open Meeting an Thursday, April 20, 201, at 10:02 a.m., in the City Hall Conference Room, City of Denton City Hall, 21 S E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas. PRESENT: Committee Chair, Joey Hawkins and Councilmember, Dalton Gregory STAFF PRESENT: Todd Hileman, City Manager Bryan Langley, Deputy City Manager Chuck Springer, Director af Finance Jerry Drake, First Assistant City Attorney Antonio Puente, Jr., Assistant Director of Finance Randee Klingele, Treasury Services Specialist Kristen Solares, Budget Analyst AGENDA ITEM 1: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX MINUTES FROM AUGUST 2, 2016. Minutes were approved as written by Dalton Gregory, seconded by Joey Hawkins, Motion passed unanimously. AGENDA ITEM 2: RECEIVE A REPORT, HOLD A DISCUSSION AND PROVIDE DIRECTION REGARDING THE HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX PROGRAM YEAR 2018 FOR FY 2017-18. Director of Finance, Chuck Springer, introduced the item by providing the past practice and purpose of reviewing both the program guidelines and application annually. Staff did not recommend any program changes for the next program year. Staff inember advised committee upon Councilmember Gregory's request that the committee should expect two to three new budget requests along with the twenty-seven from the last program year. The Program Year 2018 Guidelines and Application were approved as presented. Councilmember Gregory requested staff to find an alternate date to the proposed timeline date of June 13 for the next committee meeting. AGENDA ITEM 3: NEW BUSINESS No new business.
