McKinney Street Denton, Texas OF THE DENTON CITY COUNCIL www.cityofdenton.com 9:00 AM City Council Work Session Room After determining that a quorum of the Mobility Committee of the Denton City Council was present, the Mobility Committee thereafter convened into an Open Meeting on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 9:02 am in the City Council Work Session Room 215 E. McKinney, Denton, Texas. Committee Members: Council Member John Ryan, Council Member Keely Briggs and Council Member Paul Meltzer Staff Present: Mario Canizares, ACM; Todd Estes, City Engineer; Pritam Deshmukh, Deputy City Engineer; Trey Lansford, Deputy City Attorney; Scott Wilson, Senior Traffic Engineering Tech; Pam Alummoottil, Traffic Engineer; Becky Owens Administrative Assistant REGULAR MEETING A. MC 19-060 Considered the approval of the Mobility Committee meeting minutes of September 10, 2019. B. MC19-061 Nicole Recker, Vice President of Marketing & Administration provided a report on the plans for an efficiency study to define the needed updates and changes to the bus stop pads, benches and pavilions; Colorado and Brinker pedestrian and trail crossing improvements and the plan coordination with the City; and Bonnie Brae service route changes in coordination with the construction completion schedule where a site visit is scheduled for today. Information about ride and ticket bundle programs that will be available during the State Fair and the Texas OU weekend as well as the upcoming Veterans Day free ride promo. Moving into December they are working on the Holiday Lighting and Wasel Fest and the Holiday Express with Denton County Friends of the Family with DCTA's involvement and ride promos. The Quarterly Round Table to get feedback from focus groups is coming up in November to talk about how transit services are positively helping or potential needs to create action item lists for consideration. There is a presentation on October 14th there is a public meeting in coordination with NTCOG to promote their program of projects to talk about the grant funding and the planned use of those funds. This presentation will also be available on line. C. MC 19-062 Pam Alummoottil presented a report on the City of Denton Mobility Plan work completed and planned future task items. D. MC 19-064 John Polster from Innovative Transportation Solutions Incorporated presented the On- Systems Project Summary and a status update for: o FM 2181 North-South o US 377/Fort Worth Drive o I-35E/MayhillImprovements o I-35/Loop 288/Brinker/Mayhill o I-35/35E/35W Merge o I-35 North (US 380 to FM 3002) o I-35 W Main Lanes o I-35W Frontage Roads o US 380 East o Loop 288 o FM 1515 o FM 1173 o FM 428 o Bonnie Brae Phase VII The total value for this list of project is $2,438,705,128. Most of these have been funded or are in the pipeline to be funded within the next 18 to 24 months. All questions presented were reviewed and addressed. F. MC 19-054 Staff Reports Matrix was reviewed and updates provided. Street Construction Report was provided.
