After determining that a quorum was present, the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas
convened in a Special Called Meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 1 :02 p.m. in the Council Work
Session Room at City Hall, 215 E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas.

1.ITEM(S) FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION
A.ID 20-1416 Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, Texas, extending the
effective period of the declaration of disaster concerning Green Tree Estates, a subdivision
located within the limits of the City, to August 31, 2020; authorizing the continued
expenditure of a total amount not to exceed $100,000 during this entire disaster declaration
period as authorized by City Council on November 15, 2019; and, providing an effective
date

B. ID 20-1446 Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff direction regarding amending
the Seventh Order of Council of the City of Denton issued June 26, 2020 approved by
Ordinance No. 20-1255.
The item was presented and discussion followed.
Following discussion, City Council consensus was to strike 5.b. and replace with the
language that reflects Governor Abbott's updated Order; modify Section 5.a regarding
board/commission meetings to allow them to meet as necessary to consider items, with those
boards/commissions with time-sensitive items being prioritized; modify Section 5.H (Utility
Non-Payment Shut-offs) moving cutoffs beginning the first week of September rather than
August and reloading the Interfaith fund to the non-pandemic level (increase by $100,000);
and modify Section 5.N. (TABC Business Establishments in the City) to prorate referenced
fees
The noted changes were presented and formally considered under Individual Consideration
Item 2. A (ID 20-1423) at the Special Called Meeting that followed later in the day. Staff to
present options available for bars that are shut down; no cut-offs to take place at a future

pertaining to the potential purchase of real property located southeast of the corner of Thomas
J. Egan Rd. and Jim Chdstal Rd. in Denton, Denton County, Texas ("Property"), where the

normally allowed under Denton’s Noise Ordinance for no more than two days per week from
July 31, 2020 to September 30, 2020, from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. for certain specified
