B. COE20-009 - Receive a report, hold a discussion and give staff direction regarding update of
the 2012 Sustainability Plan.

Next steps included seeking feedback and direction for the plan and community engagement.
There was discussion including The Sustainability Plan being a guiding document not an action
plan. Each member had input giving suggestions and asking questions, concern was expressed
about calling it a ‘Plan’ since it didn’t have actions and it was suggested we remove plan from
the title. There was further discussion and questions.
Mario Canizares stated that staff will take the comments from this meeting and fold in all the
various plans that are being worked on across the organization and make sure they are identified
in the plan to make sure there is a place holder and tie it back.
