ANNUAL HEALTH PERMIT FEE
FOR CLASS I: $162.00
The following food service requirements shall be met before your
application for a Class 1: Limited Mobile Food establishment
permit may be approved:
1. The vehicle shall be a commercially manufactured motorized mobile food establishment from which only prepackaged foods and beverages are sold. Only pre-wrapped, bottled, canned, or
properly labeled packaged foods in individual servings and non-potentially hazardous
beverages in covered urns may be vended.
2. All foods shall be from an approved source.
3. Proper equipment shall be provided, such as mechanical ovens and electric refrigerators or
blowers, to maintain potentially hazardous foods at proper temperatures.
4. The serving of ice for human consumption may be dispensed through an automatic ice
machine or stored in an approved ice bin and dispensed by the operator.
5. Ice used as a coolant shall be drained into a retention tank and shall be properly disposed of at
an approved servicing area.
6. Only single service utensils may be used.
7. Digital stem-type thermometers shall be provided to check food internal temperatures.
8. All mobile lunch trucks shall report daily to the approved commissary for food supplies,
cleaning, and storing of vehicle.
9. A commissary is required. If the owner does not own a commissary, a Commissary Approval
Form shall be obtained from the consumer health department, and filled out by the commissary owner. The approval form shall be signed and dated.
10. The firm name shall be affixed to both sides of the vehicle in a minimum 3 inch tall letters
prior to permit approval. Permit will be placed on vehicle at time of inspection.
11. The driver of the vehicle shall have a Texas Drivers License, current auto insurance, a current
safety inspection sticker, and current vehicle registration.
12. Driver shall have a current driver license and a valid food handler card.

City of Denton Food and Health Safety Division by calling (940) 349-8306, (940) 349-8346 or
(940) 349-8341. We are located at 401 N. Elm St. Appointments are needed for inspection.

Annual Health Permit Fee for CLASS I: $162.00
Proof of Texas Sales and Use Tax permit.
Itinerary of your Route. This itinerary shall include all locations where sales will occur. Your
itinerary shall be updated when your route changes. Changes in your route may be submitted via email or fax to the Health Department.
Commissary Service verification agreement. This agreement shows that your mobile food
establishment is affiliated with an approved commissary. The commissary shall be your base of
operation.
Current Vehicle License Plate and Registration.
All food shall be obtained from an approved source.
Single service articles shall be properly stored.
Food and food contact equipment properly stored.
Ice should be properly stored and drained to retention tank.
All foods shall be properly labeled and packaged.
Food heating and cooling units shall be self-contained.
Adequate equipment to maintain proper temperature on all PHF.
Thermometers shall be provided in coolers and hot holding units.
Driver shall have a valid City of Denton Foodhandler card or Manager Certification.
