06/25/2021 CITY OF DENTON SUSTAINABILITY FRAMEWORK COMMITTEE MINUTES June 25,2021 After determining that a quorum was present of the Sustainability Framework Advisory Committee of the City of Denton, convened in a Regular Meeting on Friday,June 25,2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sustainability Office at 1001 S Mayhill Rd, Denton, Texas. PRESENT: Chair Keely Briggs, Vice Chair Matthew Fry,Jordan Fengel,Brand Ritcher,Fredrick Bishop, Ed Soph, Adam Briggle. ABSENT: Note: Chair Keely Briggs,Vice Chair Matthew Fry,and members Fredrick Bishop, Edward Soph, Brand Richter, and Jordan Fengel participated Member Adam Briggle participated in the work session and regular meeting via video/teleconference under the provisions allowed by the Texas Government Code Section 551.127. REGULAR MEETING 1. ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION A. SFAC21-007—Consider approval of the May 27, 2021 Minutes. Motioned by Vice Chair Matthew Fry, Seconded by Member Jordan Fengel. Vote 7-0, Approved. B. SFAC21-006—Receive a report, hold a discussion, and provide comments on the changes to the Mosquito Surveillance Response Plan (MSRP). Deborah Viera gave the presentation. There were questions and discussion by the committee members. Fengel: Would like staff to provide more information on how to prevent mosquito habitat through landscape maintenance. Briggs: Has three suggestions for the Public Campaigns. 1. Register your bees, 2. Free BT1 Campaign, 3. Preventive Campaign/Educational Video. C. SFAC21-008—Receive a report, hold a discussion, and provide feedback on Greenhouse Gas management efforts and reduction target setting options. James Douglas gave the presentation. Staff will follow up with a July update. D. SFAC21-0010—Receive a report and hold a discussion on Air Quality background, metrics, and monitoring information. James Douglas gave the presentation. CONCLUDING ITEMS Brand: Update on the number of permits versus the number of rebates received. Ed Soph Seconded this. Fr - More information on the Recycling Program. Keely: Presentation on the Recycling Program. Updated numbers on what's being accepted versus rejected at the Recycling Center. Update on Cart Tags. Briggle: Update on the building standards.
