WHEREAS, the City of Denton, a place for families to unite, grow,and play,takes pride in its sense
of community and youth involvement; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Denton Teen Council is to develop youth leaders committed to
learning about local government and the roles they can have in it and to empower,
enlighten, and inspire all young people within the Denton Community; and
WHEREAS, through civic engagement and participation in city programs and events the members
of Denton's Teen Council strive to present positive solutions, acquire new skills,
develop a greater sense of confidence, and forge meaningful connections; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton recognizes the Teen Council's hard work, commitment and
innovation in their endeavors.
NOW,THEREFORE, 1, Gerard Hudspeth,Mayor of the City of Denton,Texas, do hereby declare and proclaim
the 1 Oth day of January 2023 as
"CITY OF DENTON TEEN COUNCIL DAY"
in the City of Denton and encourage all citizens to continue being role models and
applaud our teen youth in their leadership endeavors as they are our future leaders.
