WHEREAS, The Summer Youth Jobs Program provides meaningful job experiences for
local high school students and recent high school graduates of Denton; and
WHEREAS, this program highlights the value youth play in the workplace and empowers and
mentors them towards success;and
WHEREAS, this program provides an opportunity for all to succeed,regardless of their race,
religion, socioeconomic status, or background; and
WHEREAS, The City of Denton recognizes the students who have completed the eight-week
Summer Youth Jobs Program for the Summer of 2023.
NOW,THEREFORE, I, Gerard Hudspeth, Mayor of the City of Denton, Texas, do hereby declare and
proclaim the 1 st day of August 2023 as
"SUMMER YOUTH JOBS PROGRAM DAY"
in the City of Denton and ask all residents to honor the 2023 participants of the
Summer Youth Jobs Program for their accomplishments and admirable
representation of Denton.
