If the proposition for City Hall West passes in November it will add space for Parks and Recreation staff who are currently
operating out of the Civic Center.
10/14/23 Council Member Meltzer Work Session B. 23-1601 Can staff please address current ideas for making acorn lights in There is currently no option to make the current streetlight fixtures in the historic districts dark sky compliant.However,
historic areas dark skies compliant? one option we've explored for all acorn style streetlights is to replace the top of the globe with a black top.This black top
will reduce 20%-70%of the up light depending on the placement of the street light.Staff estimates that replacing the top
of the globe with a black top will cost approximately$49,500(45 total acorn streetlights in the historic districts). For
complete compliance with IDA,a new luminaire would be required. To replace the 45 street lights with the staff proposed
fixture would cost approximately$247,500.

Minnesota? Aren't there other local competitors who could have bid companies are qualified to work on the City's assets;therefore,this limits the local pool of qualified candidates to bid on
on this and wouldn't that potentially benefit the city? this contract.In addition to a wide range of HVAC assets,the City has included emergency response timelines in the
contracts to support services to City operations.
As for the locations of company HQs(Minnesota and Louisiana),it is common to have a national provider located in
another state with remote offices to service areas like DFW and have an asset portfolio as diverse as the City of Denton.
