Annual Banquet at the Denton Country Club on April 26, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. located on 1213 Country Club
Road,Argyle,Texas.
The Denton LULAC Council receives an approximate 100 applications from Denton ISD high school
seniors from Ryan , Denton, and Guyer.The Denton LULAC Council partners with Texas Woman's
University,The University of North Texas and NCTC who will also recognize and award additional
scholarships. Denton LULAC Council#4366 raises funds from local businesses and individuals.These
funds are then matched by National LULAC to present our local students scholarships.To donate funds

Anita Martinez-Strickland,this year's scholarship chairwoman, shares "the Council receives more
applications then can be funded. Anita stated, "Not having sufficient funds to give all applicants a
scholarship is the hard part of being the Chairperson. Some very gifted and qualified students are
eliminated based on the lack of funds." Students must meet National LULAC's stringent qualifications to
be considered for an award. We do not limit our scholarship to any particular area of study.The selected
recipients have very high aspirations and receive their scholarship honoring their parents.
