This combination of studies will give me a well rounded variety of skills that can increase my qualifications for jobs in different industries. I would love to either work for a social media company or be the editor of an online magazine, maybe even start one of my own! Having a background in English could open doors for me in more creative careers rather than having to work in a more restrictive and structured environment. I am not mathematically inclined but studying real-world applicable math was what influenced my decision towards business. I'm a competitive person by nature and learning how to make people's ideas more successful and how to earn good numbers whether it be in sales or customer satisfaction seems very appealing to me. On the other hand,I love the creativity that comes with English. I especially love the balance there is in the numerous ways one can write (poetry vs. novels) and yet having certain rules that apply in all cases; giving me the best of both worlds! I've always had an easier time expressing myself through writing and oddly enough I enjoy the process of editing and revising papers;which sparked the idea of possibly becoming an editor. Either way, I'm confident that with a background in both of these subjects, I'll encounter more opportunities in the purseument of a career after college. BOX 981 DENTON,TX. 76202 t, I Psychology is the study of the human mind and its' functions, and it is essential when working with others. Being able to understand the reason behind people's actions allows you to easily communicate with them and know the proper thing to say based on the type of person you're dealing with. Since I'm naturally an extrovert, to me, human interaction is a basic need. I enjoy getting to know people and the type of lives they live. Nowadays, people spend so much time judging others and their actions that they don't even stop to think about what they might've gone through in the past or what they may be currently struggling with that made them this way. One of my main goals, which I've already started working on, is to avoid this bad habit, and help those people out, instead. My personal goal directly relates to my professional goal because I want to become either a child psychologist or a school counselor, since I'm most passionate about working with kids and helping others. For the past year, I've been serving in my church community as a youth group leader, and it has extremely helped me develop my leadership, communication, and psychological skills with kids. I've learned techniques to get them to open up and be honest with me about the things they struggle with, so that I can guide them through the right path. I've created bonds with these kids by viewing the world in their perspective and showing them that I truly care for them and their needs. Studying psychology will not only help me build enduring friendships by being able to understand why people are they are the way they are, but it'll also facilitate the process of being able to help them throughout their lives. -DENTON 1.11LAC COUNCIL # 4366ft-7 tG { LAST NAME,FIRST NAME PRINT PRINT PRINT CAMPUS NAME Q L LATINO YES ❑NO US CITIZEN or RESIDENT YES [-]NO or❑ S8 1528 Signed Application YES ❑NO ESSAY 16YES ENO Univ Letter of Admittance YES ONO High School Transcript IYES ENO ACT or SAT Report YES NO Committee;President; YES—Disqualified Scholar related: Contributor? Deciding and prioritizing what I want helps keep my goals balanced. As for my goal of being a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I have been taking medical classes that will help me along the way. My classes for my career goal have been/are Principles of Health Science, Health Science, Anatomy & Physiology, and Prac of Health Science-CNA. I want to be able to become a well-trained practitioner who is known by her best work. I enjoy taking part in the care for others. As a member (Secretary) of the National Spanish Honor Society, I volunteer with the other members at Lee Elementary. We read to the kindergarten students in Spanish and English. There will also be times where the children read to us as well. Volunteering with children allows me to interact with those around the age of those I will interact with when I have my career. I am also President of Key Club and Vice-President of Spanish Club. These positions have helped me become a better leader. I understand the responsibilities of making certain everything is in order, taken care of, and necessary. In my junior year of high school I shadowed nurses at a hospital as part of my training in Health Science. Being able to see what happens in an actual hospital has prepared me for what is to come in the near future. This year I go to the nursing home to care for residents, which has more hands on issues to deal with. Having all of these opportunities has improved my skills and abilities to achieve my personal and career goals. -D ono i Denton LULAC Council 4366 i 0 Last Name, First Name Campus C V Latino YES [:]NO US Citizen—Resident-DACA YES [—]NO Signed Application YES [:]NO Essay YES [:]NO Letter of Acceptance YES [:]NO High School Transcript YES []NO ACT or SAT Report YES ONO ❑YfS—Disqualified Scholar relation Committee;President;Contributor? We all need math and reading,we all use math when we are buying things like groceries, gas, paying for bills, or when we are on tight budgets and try to spend our money wisely. If you have a phone and you do not know how to read, then what is the point, not like you can read messages or posts. I use to think stuff like that did not matter, but now that I have a job and pay for things, I do a lot of math because of my money, I read a lot about soccer or what is going around the news. I use to think school was pointless and all, I just wanted to play soccer. When I was in middle school, there was a after school program called "G.O.A.L",which stood for Guys Operating As Leaders,we would go outside, do drills, scrimmage, and the mentors would give us life lessons. The program was not all about soccer, they would get on us a lot about our grades, if we wanted to play games or anything,we had to be passing our classes. There were times instead of playing soccer,we would go into the computer lab and write essay about anything. Coach Ice(The creator)would teach all of us on how to be better leaders and how make better decisions in our life. He would always tell us "C's get degrees" which motivated me more about my grades, but then he came up with "A's get paid". Which motivated me way more and tried to get the best grades I could, without G.O.A.L, I would not be the person I am today. f r 9,o,46- Apo& t i Denton LULAC Council 4366 c Last Name, First Name Campus -0-C-IL4- Latino YES []NO US Citizen—Resident-DACA WYES ❑NO Signed Application YES [:]NO Essay PQYES [:]NO Letter of Acceptance YES [:]NO High School Transcript 1YES [:]NO_ ACT or SAT Report YES ONO ❑YES—Disqualified Scholar relation Committee;President;Contributor? In such way that it would let me be able to communicate with others more efficient. It will also help me how to pursue others in an also more efficient way. Some activities ive been involved was the G.O.A.L program in strickland. The G.O.A.L program helped me a lot academically and sports wise, they kept us on check as in they made sure we were passing our classes and never failing. If we were failing a class they made sure we went to tutorials and brought the grade up. Most people or at least before they believed that this program was just another way for kids to just to play soccer, but in reality the program helps you build a bond with other people, academically, and while also helping you get better soccer wise. I know for sure if i had to chance to go back in time and go through it again, i would. To me seeing this program grow and how it helps a lot of kids just makes me happy, being able to say i was part of the G.O.A.L program is just a huge honor. I have also been part of the varsity program at Ryan high school for 3 years. Which i have won a BI-District trophy, 5A-5 first team, Ryan Defensive MVP, and now 5A-5 District champ and hopefully still more to come this year with playoffs just around the corner. I have came a long way and part of it was all thanks to the G.O.A.L program and their hard work and dedication to the kids/the program. I remember in the fifth grade, I was set on becoming an emergency room doctor. Until this year, my last year of high school, I changed my mind and decided to go towards becoming a nurse. I think it does not matter in the end, just as long as I accomplish something in the field because I will get to receive the joy in helping others. I know that any career in the medical field will benefit me and I will be glued to a job I love. I take a CNA class in which we get to go to a nursing home. I've had a wonderful experience and receive hands on practice by showering the residents, helping them use the restroom, and even feeding them. It has made me be more patient and understanding. This class allows me to gain a true insight on what I plan to be a part of. Recently, I volunteered at the nursing home named Good Samaritan. It was on Valentines Day and we got to spend time with the elderly. We decorated cupcakes, listened to music, and just talked to them and gave them company. I noticed how much it meant to them when someone gives them the most little attention and how important it is to meet their needs. I have set high standards for myself, and I know that if I push myself hard enough I will be successful in a nursing career. I cannot wait what the future has in store for me, but I know for sure I will have chosen the correct pathway. I choose spanish as my major of study because it is something I love and I am wanting to improve everyday. I have always been satisfied when it came to helping people understand the language better, and being able to translate for them when they are in need. Living in a household where spanish was the first language, it has been hard having to master two different languages at once. I still struggle till this day, but i know it will all be worth it in the end. i was able to take four years of AP Spanish in high school. It has also really helped me enhance and understand the spanish language better. There have been many extracurricular activities and community service opportunities that I have been able to participate in. Most have been thanks to Key Club, Spanish Club, and Mujeres Con Suenos. The services i have done have helped me realize that i do want to go into this major. At certain events, there were also hispanic people that would need help, i liked being able to help them feel comfortable and understand what is going on. In conclusion, all my extracurricular activities and academics have really helped my desire to pursue a spanish major. I am really looking forward to pursue this career and I'm excited on what's ahead. They taught me that the willingness to learn is something no one could ever take away from me. Their wise words and constant reminder that I could become someone big, led me to the decision of continuing my education at UNT to pursue a career in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. Recently,I have seen and heard about many events that have affected the hispanic community. Therefore,I have made it my responsibility to work to inform my community. My main goal is to share the stories of hispanic people in this country and let them be known. I want to inform the public about what it's really like being someone of latin origin in this country, and hopefully with that, unify our community with every other community in this country. I have participated in many community events and have done a lot of community service throughout the course of my high school career that has awarded me with experience. For example, I have spent a lot of time at Ginnings Elementary and Strickland Middle School in Denton TX, helping students with their academic work, but also interacting with them and trying to implement in them the importance of believing in themselves. Projects like the Turkey Roll and the Red Bud Fest, also in Denton, have awarded me with the practice of meeting and interacting with others which will be a great help in the field that I wish to pursue. With the help of my parents and my community I wish to reach my goal of helping my community and impacting people by helping them realize that no one can ever take their voice, perseverance, or knowledge from them, just like my parents taught me. go k- 021 ox rG Denton LULAC Council 4366 Last Name, First Name Campus Latino b6YES [:]NO US Citizen—Resident- DACA VJYES ONO Signed Application YES ❑NO -4-4 Essay YES [:]NO Letter of Acceptance YES [:]NO High School Transcript YES [:]NO ACT or SAT Report YES [:]NO OYES—Disqualified Scholar relation Committee;President;Contributor? As I work, I will save money until I have the appropriate amount needed to start a running business. My motivation to do this comes from my parents. Over the years I have seen them labor hard to be able to give me the opportunities they didn't have growing up in a impoverished country. The hard work and risk they took to bring me to the great nation I am in now, inspires me to pay homage to their sacrifice by becoming successful in life, it's a sort of way to show my gratitude as well as demonstrating that their effort paid off. My other goal is to help the community. Coming from a tough background, I feel the need to help others, I know what a "rainy day" looks like, I also know how good it feels to know that there is someone there to hand you an umbrella. Let me tell you about my experience as an immigrant. I moved to the United States at the age of 12, right at the beginning of 7th grade year. I came not knowing any English and, at the time, I wasn't fond of the idea of living in a country I did not know at all.The first two years were the hardest for me; my family was in Mexico and I had trouble involving in school. However, once I entered high school, everything changed. 1 was officially out of ESL by sophomore year, I started taking advanced classes, and by Junior year I entered the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The transition was frightening for sure, but it was worth it. I've become more involved with community service, thanks to being part of LULAC and a few other organizations. And, in my senior year I've had the chance to create a project that is going to impact the diverse community around me. I'm making a writing contest, which will be dedicated to the immigrants in this country(related to DACA), and put the works in a book. This project is still in process, but I'm partnering up with the LULAC council of DHS for this because it can beneficiate the hispanic community. I took interest in this because as an immigrant, I can relate to the fear of those who are being separated of their families, and making others aware of the instability is also important. This is a small project but I hope to do more like this in college, representing my Hispanic culture. All the hard work abled me to be accepted to good colleges, in where 1 can follow my dream to become a nurse, and maybe get the chance to volunteer to travel across the word to help countries in need of health care. Growing up, there was nothing more that I enjoyed than playing soccer. Through soccer I was able to learn the leadership skills and discipline in the classroom to earn myself and my team a couple recognitions. The ability to motivate my teammates by creating a positive attitude and a strong bond is something that I learned through the GOAL program. I played for SMSC for two years before moving to Myers middle school for my 8th grade year. It was a new school, a new team, and there was a lot of work that had to be done. I was trusted by coaches to motivate a young team to fight for each other day in and day out. That leadership spirit earned me the ability to motivate my team to a district championship just this week and possibly more, as we continue to playoffs. The skills that I learned through the GOAL program helped me to be named JV captain as a freshman, earn a varsity spot as a Sophomore, and become the varsity captain for both my junior and senior years. I was also named second team all district and hopefully will be recognized again at this season's end. Those skills have also helped me out outside of the soccer field. I was recognized as champion of the month for my school earlier this year. When I graduate, I plan to become a automotive and diesel technician. I want to learn as much as possible so that I can begin to help my family. Through all of my accomplishments having the ability to earn a post high school education, and being the first in my family to do so is what I'm most proud of. Applicant's signature required. I also noticed that my cardiologist had to rely on the expertise of the radiologist to complete the examination of my heart. For me,this mean, that the diagnosis and treatment of patients requires a great deal of teamwork. In this regard a radiologists' contributions to the medical field,to better understand patients' health conditions, inspired me to establish a professional goal of becoming one. My mother and father have professions on very different fields. My mother is an anthropologist, while my father is a chemist. My mother always conducted her work in a social light and focused on people, vanile my father did his in a purely scientifically one. I was raised under the influence of these different world views and somehow I learned how to bring them together. I think this is the reason why I am always motivated to use my dexterity with scientific concepts to better understand society and the world, because my ultimate goal is to use science to help people and to work towards the common good.As a professional in the field of medicine, it is my purpose to achieve this goal.I want to impact the world by helping those in need by providing a diagnosis to fix the problems faced by the sickly. - #1006 Denton LULAC Council 4366 { Last Name, First Name Campus Latino KYES [:]NO US Citizen—Resident-DACA YES [:]NO Signed Application MYES ONO Essay YES [:]NO Letter of Acceptance YES ❑NO High School Transcript YES [—]NO ACT or SAT Report 156YES [:]NO YES—Disqualified Scholar relation Committee;President;Contributor? In addition, please discuss any community service or extracurricular activities you have been involved in that relate to your goals. The expression, at the summit of(one's) success , does not accurately depict what is means to be successful. I am a firm believer that success possesses no limit nor strict definition. With this ideology, my academic studies will contribute to my personal and professional goal of change; not just refine in the world of technology and innovation, but adapt in myself to grow and surpass the ones who taught me what it is to be human. Technology has been apart of my life since the very beginning. I ve taken countless engineering, physics, and math courses and always tried to excel in them so I can continue to pursue my passion for technology. My focus is to obtain a bachelor in electrical engineering and minor in business and management. I want to study in the field of batteries and power production in hopes to one day make a breakthrough in the science/physics world. Soon after I want to put my leadership and management skills into a business just as my father did. Along the way I will truly know and face the hardships adults do and from that I will develop as a human. I have demonstrated my leadership capabilities after becoming the Drum Major in my band and having the stress fill inside by constantly juggling work, school, key club and band. I was given the honor to serve as the Junior Representative of key club which led to many community service activities that we hosted. By demonstrating commitment and overall superb work ethic, I was given the position Junior Class Secretary and Senior Class Secretary. All of these positions have aided me on my journey to change. I strive for excellence not perfection. I one day hope to accomplish something far off what my parents anticipate and become successful. Applicant's signature required. This major will help me reach my career goal of becoming a cardiologist. It will also give me a strong background to take with me and set a foundation for medical school. My goals are to obtain a bachelor's degree in Biology Pre-Medicine and use that as a base of education for my future career. I have been pursuing this career goal since middle school and have been arranging my classes in a way that gives me more opportunities to experience more of the medical environment. My Junior year of high school I was in a hospital lab course where we performed different lab simulations and practiced different techniques that hospitals use. This senior year I've been taking a course called Allied Health Anatomy and Physiology/Allied Health Pathophysiology. These classes have given me a perspective on the structure and functions of the body. They have been very beneficial for my future studies and have provided me with the knowledge that I have enjoyed studying and would love to continue to do more research. My personal goals are to become more educated in this field and expand my opportunities and resources to accomplish my goal of becoming a cardiologist. While in college, I also plan to play college softball. I currently play Varsity Softball, where I have led my team to win the 5-5A Bi-District Championship. This past season I was also selected as the District 5-5A All-District Defensive Player of the Year. I have been on the Varsity Team since my freshman year and have made the All-District Team each year. This past year, I broke the Ryan High School Softball record for most stolen bases in a single season (79). These experiences have taught me how to be a leader, patience and how to be resilient. These are qualities that I will be able to take with me as I begin my college experience and on to medical school. My mom and God gave me the opportunity to become anything I wanted in this country. I decided to become a construction engineer because it's what I've been around my whole life and I always found it interesting. I want to go to college to become a construction engineer. To prepare for that I have in the summer I worked in remodeling houses with a group of people. My job was to clean and to help tape and paint. I learned a couple of other things that have to do with plumbing and interior design. The interior designing that we did was picking out how we wanted the kitchen and the restrooms to look, and what colors we should use and type of furniture. And this was my job during the summer. During school I wanted to join classes that had to do with engineering and construction, therefore I joined principles of engineering in my freshman year and did a lot of projects and research related to engineering. The next year I joined Architecture and learned how to use the software in Denton High School. During my junior and senior years I went to the Advanced Technology complex for Architecture.. To pursue my goals I must go to college and be able graduate to enjoy what I do as a living and most of all make my mom proud. Coming from immigrant parents consists of broken aspirations because they had to give up everything, including an education,to give my family the best life they possibly could. The sacrifice that my parents made to give up the only place they knew motivates me to be a better me. Their setbacks are how I push myself to be the best student I can be because I know my parents didn't get that opportunity. Being the first to attain a college degree in my family will only show that I can and I will achieve anything I set my mind to.By being a social worker I will be able to make a positive impact on someone's life. Whether that's helping them find shelter,a meal or clothes,it will all be the little things that can make a difference in someone's day. It also means that I will be exposed to the hardships, the disadvantages and the differences people have. With my academic studies I will be able to humble myself and put my opinions aside to help someone in need. When I volunteered at Project 2713's Backyard Bash to raise money for adoption fees, I realized that that's what I wanted to do. I want to make something possible for someone. Everyone typically gets excited whenever they stargaze or even looks at a picture of Jupiter's Great Red Spot. I mean, how could anyone be bored when talking about astronomy? Whenever I talk about astronomy; I get energetic from the excitement! Sure, I may get some weird looks from those who don't know me too well, but I never really cared much about that; learning more about our universe is something I have valued and anticipated for my career path since I was a young child staring in wonder at the night time sky. As an astronomer, I would not keep all the knowledge to myself. I plan on becoming a professor, in hopes of inspiring other students, just like I have been inspired by stimulating scientists I have read about. The branch of astronomy that I have always had my eyes on is exoplanets. I find it mind- bogglingly beautiful that we share our universe. What is even more mind-boggling is that one day I may be a part of the group of people who discover life beyond our solar system. By earning a Ph.D. in Astronomy, I know I will answer the unanswerable question: are we alone? By successfully answering this question for humanity, I would consider my bucket list complete! In high school I have been heavily involved in advanced honors classes to prepare me for the rigor of college and a major in the sciences—like AP Physics,AP English, &AP US History&other honors classes. I have also developed skills in leadership as the Drum Major in band my junior and senior year; Treasurer on The Green Team with the Environmental Science Club;Chemistry Club; Peer Assistance Leadership Service (PALS) mentoring program; Student Council;and the National Honor Society. These organizations have also helped me improve my communication, relationship, and conflict management skills which will help in my career and future endeavors. Since resources are limited locally in the field of astronomy, I have also found ways to learn more through "zooniverse.org" -a citizen-led research group based online where I have helped busy scientists in projects. These have included: "Backyard Worlds- Planet 9", assisting with helping to classify images with the potential of containing our ninth planet; and the "Galaxy Zoo" project to classify galaxies based on images. My favorite projects through this group have been the "Exoplanet Explorers" & "Planet Hunter" projects to assist with the discovery of new planets! 670AL _ , d LAST NAME,FIRST NAME PRINT PRINT PRINT CAMPUS NAME 9 n i Q l r LATINO YES [:]NC iA US CITIZEN or RESIDENT YES NO or[] SS 1528 Signed Application YES []NC I i ESSAY YES [-]NO Univ Letter of Admittance AYES ENO High School Transcript YES ❑NO ACT or SAT Report P ES—P ,",'0 Committee,President YES—Disqualified Scholar related: Contributor? Coming from a hardworking family which used to work 50-60 hours a week for a very low wage, I have known that the life my parents gave me in my early ages is not something I want to live trough. It haunts my parents to this day to not have seen us fully develop through my brothers and I childhood. Academics has helped my goal which I want to approach critically. Not only teaching me the basics of math, science, and literature, but also teaching the history of hard working people such as John D. Rockefeller. He was a man whom began from nothing and over time reached an incredible amount of money. Just like my other goal, when he reached it, most of his money was used by donation to help others out providing them money so that they could then go on and be successful. Not to be selfish but so that the next person in line could one day help someone else whom was rising. People like Rockefeller motivate me because from our own success you can help others out. I cannot do it with money, but I can do it with my knowledge. Earlier this year GOAL for high school teenagers attempted to make a soccer team. Not every player was skilled, but with help of other skilled players and me,we were able to guide them and show them what we knew so they could become better. Not only did that experience humble me as a person but taught me patience as we dealt with newcomers. The knowledge that GOAL has offered, will have a huge impact in my future success. I enjoy being around children so much and consider working with troubled youth. The world offers many great careers out there like being a social worker, a career counselor, or even a probation officer. It means a lot to me because 1 have seen how hard life can be at a young age. I know it will be hard to help sometimes because I am not in their shoes but the result in the end is what matters most. This year I was selected out of 450 students to be one of the 30 in the Peer Assistance and Leadership or P.A.L. class. In this class our main purpose is to make a difference in our community by mentoring children from ages 11 to 13. It was because of this opportunity I found the love for helping kids and being a role model to them. I learned more than how to just mentor kids, I learned how to help others and be a good example to them. We were taught how to help solve conflicts between two or more students and that is a valuable skill to have in life. In the future these skills will help me in my career to give back and make a difference in people's lives. I also spend my time and serve in a mentor program called "PALS", this is where we go and spend time with the at risk or challenged youth in the elementary and middle schools. This year I have been fortunate enough to establish my own club called "P.O.W.E.R"which is an acronym for"People Opting for Women's' Equal Rights" I'm truly passionate about civil right and I'm blessed to be given the opportunity to speak my truth and have my voice heard. At the beginning of this school year our high school LULAC council took a trip to the Mayor's office to speak with him in regards to SB4, he was open and allowed us to ask him anything we wanted to. No one spoke up so I look it upon myself to ask him if he had ever face racial discrimination? He replied with "No, but I am bothered with the question of what advantages my race has brought me" I reminded him that for people of color in today's day and age are hyper aware of their race. I am seventeen year old and constantly conscious of the fact that my race is something that I can't control yet it still offends people. In efforts to stop the City of Denton from allowing S134 to divide our city our council held a writing workshop where we wrote letters to the councilmen and women about the personal effects we would face because of S134 and not to mention the unconstitutionality of this atrocious bill. I have strong aspirations of pursuing a medical degree in Reproductive Endocrinology. In becoming a specialist you must complete four years of an undergraduate degree majoring in Preparatory Medicine, continuing to a four year Medical School, after take on a three year residency in internal medicine, and lastly a three year fellowship in endocrinology. I am proud to be Mexican-American and I hope to pave a road for those that come after me. &W _ ` i l LAST NAME,FIRST NAME PRINT PRINT PRINT CAMPUS NAME 1 - ,l a LA 4,711 t LATINCI YES [:]NC US CITIZEN or RESIDENT YES [:]NO or SB 1S28 Signed Application MYES ENO ESSAY YES ONO Univ Letter of Admittance YES [-]NO High School Transcript YES []NO ACT or SAT Report IsnYES ❑NO Committee,President; EYES-Disqualified Scholar related: Contributor? She says this because she knew that with focus and perseverance you are capable of anything. This saying has motivated me to keep on going because I have the capability of achieving my personal and career goals. As the first college graduate in my family, I would like to set an example for my younger siblings by following my dreams. I will teach them to pursue their goals no matter the obstacles that arise. During my education, I strived to excel academically in all courses. In high school, I took all honor classes, which helped me prepare for college by organizing,time-management, being analytical, and love of learning. In college, I plan to be a student I can be proud of, a student that is studious, a student that is involved, and a student that values family. In the future, I will earn an engineering degree, learn about entrepreneurship, and get experience in engineering, so I can start a self-funded school. The self-funded school will allow children to learn more about Engineering with hands-on experience. As a person who is futuristic and loves to learn, I plan to apply my knowledge to help others in need by building houses, heaters, coolers, appliances, and more. My desire to help others came from my family. While coordinating the blood drive in my school, I learned how to handle volunteers, gained leadership experience. Community service has given me the ability to multitask, organize, and feel the warmth of helping. The first time I visited Good Samaritan, I did it because it was the right thing to do for the happiness of the elderly. I never imagined that I would have fallen for the elderly and wished to spend more time with them. They filled me up with joy that overwhelmed me and a sense of a need to protect the happy harmony between the residents and students. My education, family, and volunteer companions, have shaped who I am and encourage me to become a person willing to give back to the community.
