Elm Street Denton, TX 76201 RE: Vintage Village Permit Number: DSA21-0018 Response to 1st Review Comments 18313 The following are the response comments for the above-mentioned project. Our response comments are in bold. texas department of transportation Project involves filling of floodplain of Hickory Creek  a.CLOMR for Vintage Blvd. will be considered to satisfy the requirement for CLOMR (SDCM 3.8.2) Note, a CLOMR does not modify the regulatory floodplain.  Therefore, floodplain from Hickory Creek remai ns on the property. McAdams Response: xxx b.Extend study on Hickory Creek further upstream to northern limits of property to establish fully developed water surface elevations. (SDCM 3.8.3) McAdams Response: xxx c.Provide calculation of volume of valley storage filled, and design and calculation of replacement for that storage. (DDC 7.5.3.H.3 & SDCM 3.8.3.A.6) McAdams Response: xxx Waters upstream of Route 377 can freely flow between the main channel of Hickory Creek and the secondary opening indicated as Rourke tributary. The model must balance flows between these two channels . McAdams Response: xxx Lateral structures provided in model do not report any flow in them because the optimize setting in the run dialog was not set to optimize. McAdams Response: xxx Narrative indicates that 1:1 expansion rates and 2:1 contraction rates were used.  These are opposite of the 1:1 contraction and 2:1 expansion that should be used.  Correct model and/or narrative as  necessary. McAdams Response: xxx Provide analysis of Existing onsite condition with fully developed (i.e., ultimate) offsite conditions. McAdams Response: xxx Provide an enlarged exhibit along Rourke Branch showing topography, cross sections, exiting and proposed fully developed floodplain.  The scale must be adequate to show that floodplain lines are cons istent with flood elevations at and between cross sections. McAdams Response: xxx Show boundary of required flood easement 15’ offset from proposed fully developed (i.e., ultimate) condition flood boundary (SDCM 3.9.1) McAdams Response: xxx Once approved modeling becomes part of the City record and may be used as best available data.  Therefore:  Eliminate any redundant or obsolete data from the digital submittal. Provide only the models for which approval is being sought and data or calculations that support the final models.  Additional exa mples given below: McAdams Response: xxx Provide a brief listing of the model or other file names provided and the part they play in the model to be approved. Describe the various basins (HMS) and plans (RAS) in the models. (i.e., do not need to describe every file in the model) McAdams Response: xxx ii. Provide explanation of surface and other GIS files use McAdams Response: xxx C.Eliminate the backup folder or describe the supporting calculations it contains that are used in the final model. McAdams Response: xxx d.Large surface (i.e., tif) files should be limited to those used in the RAS model to cut cross sections. As exception to this would be that the onsite surveyed surface on its own in addition to the  surface where it is merged with the offsite LIDAR is also desirable.
