ORDINANCE NO ~ '~'~ ~--,~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE
WEST SIDE OF FULTON STREET FROM LINDEN STEET TO CRESCENT STREET ON
SCHOOL DAYS FROM 8 00 AM UNTIL 400 PM, PROVIDING TWO HOUR
RESTRICTED PARKING FROM 8 00 A M UNTIL 4 00 P M ON THE EAST SIDE OF
FULTON STREET FROM LINDEN STREET TO CRESCENT STREET WITH A TWENTY-
FIVE FOOT NO PARKING ZONE ON EACH SIDE OF THE 2 HOUR RESTRICTED
PARKING SPACES, PROVIDING A TEN FOOT NO PARKING AREA ON BOTH SIDES
OF THE DRIVEWAY WHICH IS ON THE EAST SIDE OF FULTON STREET, PROVIDING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A
PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ When signs or markings are ~n place g~mng notme thereof, no person shall
park a vehicle on school days from 8 00 a m until 4 00 p m upon the following street xn the City
of Denton
On the west side of Fulton Street from its intersection w~th Linden Street to its
~ntersectlon with Crescent Street
On the east side of Fulton Street from ~ts intersection with the north curbhne of Linden
Street north for 25 feet
On the east side of Fulton Street from ~ts intersection with the south curblme of Crescent
Street south for 25 feet
O~a the east side of Fulton Street from the north edge of the radius of the driveway north
for 10 feet and from the south edge of the radius of the driveway south for 10 feet
~ When signs and markings are in place g~wng notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle on a school day between 8 00 a m and 4 00 p m for more than two hours on
the east side of Fulton Street from 25 feet north of its intersection with the north curbhne of
Linden Street to 25 feet south of its intersection w~th the south curbhne of Crescent Street
~u~_T.[.O..~..~ The provisions of Section I or Section II proh~bltlng the parking of
vehicles shall apply at all times to the designated portion of the above named street or streets
except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict w~th other traffic or in compliance
with the d~rect~on of a police officer or official traffic control device
~ That all provisions of the ordinances of the C~ty of Denton ~n conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other prowmons of the
ordinances of the C~ty of Denton, not m conflict w~th the provisions of th~s ordinance, shall
remmn ~n t~11 force and effect
~ That ~f any prowslon of this ordinance or apphcat~on thereof to any person
or mrcumstance ~s held lnvahd, such ~nvahdlty shall not affect the other prows~ons or
apphcat~ons, and to this end the prows~ons of th~s ordinance are severable
~ Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle m v~olat~on of th~s
ordinance ~hall be guilty of a mmdemeanor and pumshed by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION 7. That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the
date of ~t~ passage, and the Cxty Secretary xs hereby dxrected to cause the caption of thxs
ordinance ~to be pubhshed twice m the Denton Record-Chromcle, the offimal newspaper of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, wxth~n ten (10) days of the date of its passage
