AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, ANNEXING 75 71 ACRES OF
LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, LOCATED
ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MCK1NNEY STREET AND IS DIRECTLY OPPOSITE OF
TRINITY ROAD IN THE COUNTY OF DENTON, TEXAS, APPROVING A SERVICE
PLAN FOR THE ANNEXED PROPERTY, PROVIDING A SEVER_ABILITY CLAUSE, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (A-84)
WHEREAS, the City of Denton wishes to extend ~ts clty hmlts hne to annex 75 71 acres
of land described herein, and
WHEREAS, on June 9, 1999, the Planmng and Zoning Commlss~on recommended
approval of the petition for annexation, and
WHEREAS, public heanngs were held in the Council Chambers on April 20, 1999, and
May 11, 1999, (both days being on or after the 40th day but before the 20th day before the date of
the restitution of the procee&ngs) to allow all interested persons to state their views and present
ewdence beanng upon this annexation, and
WHEREAS, annexation proceechngs were instituted for the property described herein by
the introduction of thas or&nance at a meeting of the C~ty Council on June l, 1999, and
WHEREAS, flus ordinance has been published ~n full one t~me in the officml newspaper
of the City of Denton on June 13, 1999, after annexation proceedings were ~nstltuted and 30 days
prior to Clty Council taking final action, as required by C~ty Charter, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the annexation will be in comphance with the
1988 Denton Development Plan, the 1998 Denton Plan Pohmes, and the 1999 Growth
Management Strategies and Plan, NOW, THEREFORE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the tract of land described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and
~ncorporated by reference, ~s annexed to the City of Denton, Texas
~ That the service plan attached as Extnb~t "B", and ~ncorporated by
reference, whmh provides for the extension of mumc~pal serwces to the annexed property,
approved as part oftlus ordinance
SECTION III Should any part of th~s ordinance be held illegal for any reason, the
holding 8hall not affect the remalmng portion of this ordinance and the City Council hereby
declares it to be ~ts purpose to annex to the City of Denton all the real property described ~n
Exhibit "A" regardless of whether any other part of the described property is hereby effectively

annexed to the C~ty If any part of the real property annexed ~s already included within the cxty
limits of the C~ty of Denton or within the limits of any other c~ty, town or village, or ~s not w~th~n
the Caty of Denton's juns&ctxon to annex, the same ~s hereby excluded from the temtory
annexed as fully as if the excluded area were not expressly described in this or&nance
