ORDINANCE NO ~- ~ ~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, INITIALLY DESIGNATING TO
AGRICULTURAL (A) ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION AND USE DESIGNATION
FOR 19 802 ACRES OF LAND IN THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, LOCATED ON THE
SOUTH SIDE OF EDWARDS ROAD, APPROXIMATELY 2,000 FEET WEST OF SWISHER
ROAD, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2,000 00 FOR
VIOLATIONS THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (A-86,
LUBBERS ADDITION)
WHEREAS, on April 6, 1999, City Council received a report, held a dlscusmon and then
d~rected staff to proceed with involuntary annexation of the 19 802 acres described herein, and
WHEREAS, the property to be annexed reqmres a zomng d~stnct clasmficat~on and use
demgnaUon upon ~ts annexauon, and
WHEREAS, on June 9, 1999, the Planning and Zoning Comm~smon recommended
approval of the proposed Agricultural (A) zoning dastnct, and
WHEREAS, on July 20, 1999, the City of Denton ~nvoluntary annexed 19 802 acres of
land described, whmh was made effective upon as passage, and
WHEREAS, the City Cotmcfl finds that the proposed zoning will be in comphance w~th
the 1988 Denton Development Plan, the 1998 Denton Plan Pohcles, and the 1999 Growth
Management Strategies and Plan, NOW, THEREFORE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the zoning district clasmficatlon and use designation of the 19 802
acre property described m the legal descnptlon attached hereto and incorporated herein as
Exhibit A is hereby Agricultural (A) zomng dmtnct under the comprehensive zoning ordinance
of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION 2 That the C~ty's official zoning map lS amended to show the zomng district
classification
SECTION 3 That any person violating any provision of thls ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be fined a sum not exceeding $2,000 O0 Each day that a provlmon of this ordinance
is violated shall constitute a separate and distinct offense
SECTION 4 That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date
of its passage, and the City Secretary m hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to
be pubhshed twice m the Denton Reeord-Chromcle, a daily newspaper published m the City of
Denton, Texas, wlthm ten (10) days of the date of its passage
