ORDINANCE NO ~4-Z/~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 421 E HICKORY STREET AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK UNDER
SECTION 35-215, ARTICLE V, OF CHAPTER 35 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2,000 FOR
VIOLATIONS THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Htstonc Landmark Comm~sston and the Plarmmg and Zomng
Commtsston of the Ctty of Denton havtng recommended that the property here~n described be
destgnated as a htstone landmark in the C~ty of Denton, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ That the property located at 421 E Hmkory Street, being more partmularly
described m Exhtblt "A" attached hereto and ~ncorporated herein by reference, ts hereby
designated as a htstonc landmark under Sectton 35-215, Article V of Chapter 35 of the Code of
Ordinances of the Ctty of Denton, Texas
~QT. LQ_h~ That smd property heretn dascnbed shall be tndmated upon the zomng map
of the City of Denton as a h~stonc landmark by the letter "H," and the property here~n described
shall be subject to all terms, promstons and reqmrements of Sectmn 35-215, Artmle V of Chapter
35 of thel Code of Orchnances of the Ctty of Denton, Texas, and such deslgnatton shall be in
addttlon to any other use destgnatton established in the City's zomng ordtnance apphcable to
such property
~ That any person vtolatmg any provtston of th~s ordinance shall, upon
conmctton, be fined a sum not exceeding $2,000 Each day that a provtston of this orthnance ts
violated shall constitute a separate and dtstmct offense
~ That thts ordinance shall become effecttve fourteen (14) days from the date
oftts passage, and the City Secretary ts hereby dtrected to cause the caption of thts ordinance to
be pubhshed twine m the Denton Record-Chromcle, the offimal newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, wtthm ten (10) days of the date of~ts passage
