AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 520 N AUSTIN STREET AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK UNDER SECTION
35-215, ARTICLE V, OF CHAPTER 35 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, PROVIDING
FOR A PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2,000 FOR VIOLATIONS
THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Hmtonc Landmark Commmmon and the Planning and Zoning
Commission of the City of Denton having recommended that the property herein described be
designated as a hmtonc landmark in the City of Danton, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ That the property located at 520 N Austin Street, being more particularly
described in ExhlNt "A" attached hereto and ~ncorporated herein by reference, is hereby
designated as a lustonc landmark under Section 35-215, Amcle V of Chapter 35 of the Code of
Or&nantes of the City of Denton, Texas
~ That smd property hereto described shall be indicated upon the zomng map
of the City of Denton as a hmtonc landmark by the letter "H," and the property herein described
shall be subject to all terms, provisions and reqmrements of Section 35-215, Article V of Chapter
35 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas, and such designation shall be ~n
ad&tlon to any other use designation established m the City's zoning ordinance apphcable to
such property
~ That any person violating any prowmon of this ordinance shall, upon
convmt~on, be fined a sum not exceeding $2,000 Each day that a provision oftNs ordinance is
violated shall constitute a separate and distinct offense
~ That fins orchnance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date
of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to
be published twine m the Denton Record-Chromcle, the official newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage
