AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE
RENAMING OF SOUTHERN HILLS BOULEVARD TO BRINKER ROAD, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the proposed extension of Bnnker Road will be extended from Loop 288 to
connect to Southern Hill Boulevard at Colorado Boulevard and ~t was recommended by DRC
that Southern Hills Boulevard be renamed to Brmker Road, and
WHEREAS, smd renaming will simplify street names and provide for more consmtent
addressmg, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zomng Commission of the C~ty of Denton conducted a
pubhc heanng on July 14, 1999, and recommends renaming of Southem Htlls Boulevard to
Bnnker Road, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1. That the street officially designated as Southern Hills Boulevard, being a
public street connecting the I H 35-E Service Road to Colorado Boulevard, as illustrated m the
attached Exhibit "A", which is incorporated and made a part hereof, is renamed to Bnnker Road
SECTION 2 That the Director of Planning and Development is directed to amend the
official map of the City of Denton to reflect the change in the street name as provided herein
~ That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and approval
