AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING COMPETITIVE BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
THE PURCHASE OF A DRAINAGE PIPE, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS
THEREFOR, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (BID 2415 - DRAINAGE PIPE
AWARDED TO HUGHES SUPPLY IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,847 50)
WHEREAS, the City has sohclted, received and tabulated competitive b~ds for the purchase
of necessary materials, eqmpment, supplies or sermces in accordance wath the procedures of STATE
law and City ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager or a designated employee has reviewed and recommended
that the hereto described bids are the lowest responsible bids for the materials, eqmpment, supplies
or services as shown in the "Bid Proposals" submitted therefore, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has provided m the City Budget for the appropriation of funds
to be used for the purchase of the materials, equipment, supplies or services approved and accepted
herein, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COLrNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SCT~ That the numbered items in the following numbered bids for materials,
equipment, supplies, or services, shown in the "Bid Proposals" on file in the office of the City
Purchasing Agent, are hereby accepted and approved as being the lowest responsible b~ds for such
items

submitted bids, the City accepts the offer of the persons submitting the bids for such items and
agrees to purchase the materials, equipment, supplies or services m accordance wath the terms,
specifications, standards, quantJtias and for the specified sums eontmned in the Bid Invitations, Bid
Proposals, and related documents
SECTION III That should the C~ty and persons submitting approved and accepted items
and of the submitted bids wash to enter rote a formal wnttan agreement as a result of the acceptance,
approval; and awarding of the bids, the City Manager or his designated representative ~s hereby
authorized to execute the written contract wlueh shall be attached hereto, provided that the written
contract is in accordance with the terms, conditions, specfficatlons, standards, quant~ties and
speeffied sums contmned m the Bid Proposal and related doeumems herein approved and accepted
~ That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered ~tems of the
submitted b~ds, the C~ty Councd hereby authorizes the expendxture of funds therefor m the amount
and m accordance w~th the approved bxds or pursuant to a written contract made pursuant thereto as
authorized hereto
