FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTWE DATE (BID
2394 - SPENCER TO LOCUST TRANSMISSION LINE CONSTRUCTION AND BID 2395 NORTH
LAKES SUBSTATION US77/R1NEY ROAD TRANSMISSION LiNE CONSTRUCTION AWARDED
TO GREAT SOUTH WESTERN CONSTRUCTION, INC, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,310,622)
WHEREAS, the C~ty has sohclted, and received competitive sealed b~ds for the construction of
public works or improvements m accordance w~th the procedures of STATE law and C~ty ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager or a designated employee has received and recommended that the
herein described bids are the lowest respondent for the construction of the public works or ~mprovements
described m the bid lnwtatlon, and plans and specfficat~ons therein, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the following competitive sealed b~d for the construction ofpubhc works or
tmprovements, as described ~n the "Sealed B~d Inwtat~ons", or plans and specfficattons on file ~n the Office
of the C~ty's Purchasing Agent filed according to the bid number assigned hereto, are hereby accepted and
approved as being the lowest responsible bids

SECTION II That the acceptance and approval of the above competitive sealed b~d shall not
constitute a contract between the C~ty and the person submitting the b~d for construction of such pubhc
works or improvements here~n accepted and approved, until such person shall comply w~th all
requirements specified in the Notice to B~dders lnclnd~ng the t~mely execution of a written contract and
furmsh~ng of performance and payment bonds, and insurance certfficate after notification of the award of
the bid
SECTION III That the C~ty Manager is hereby authorized to execute all necessary written
contracts for the performance of the construction of the pubhc works or ~mprovements in accordance w~th
the bids accepted and approved hereto, prowded that such contracts are made in accordance with the Notice
to Bidders and Request for Sealed Bids, and documents relating thereto spemfylng the terms, conditions,
plans and specifications, standards, quantltaes and specified sums contmned therein
SECTION IV That upon acceptance and approval of the above competitive sealed b~ds and the
execution of contracts for the pubhc works and improvements as authorized heroin, the C~ty Council
hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds in the manner and in the amount as specified ~n such approved
b~ds and authonzed contracts executed pursuant thereto
SECTION V That this ordinance shall become effective ~mme&ately upon ~ts passage and
approval
