AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE MAINTENANCE FOR
AMERITECH LIBRARY SOFTWARE WHICH IS AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE
SOURCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 252 OF THE
TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM
REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE (PURCHASE ORDER 00251 TO AMERITECH LIBRARY SERVICES IN THE
AMOUNT OF $26,570 72)
WHEREAS, Section 252.022 of the Local Government Code prowdes that
procurement of ~tems that are only avmlable from one source, including, ~tems that are
only avmlable from one source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes or natural
monopohes, films, manuscripts or books, electricity, gas, water and other utility
purchases, captive replacement parts or components for eqmpment, and hbrary materials
for a pubhc hbrary that are avmlable only from the persons holding exclusive d~stnbut~on
rights to the materials, need not be submitted to competitive b~ds, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council w~shes to procure one or more of the ~tems
mentioned m the above paragraph, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS

described ~n the "Purchase Orders" hsted hereon, and on file in the office of the
Purchasing Agent, are hereby approved

SECTION II That the acceptance and approval of the above ~tems shall not
constitute a contract between the C~ty and the person submxtt~ng the quotation for such
xtems until such person shall comply w~th all reqmrements specffied by the Purchasxng
Department
~ That the C~ty Manager ~s hereby authorized to execute any
contracts relating to the ~tems spemfied m Section I and the expenditure of funds pursuant
to satd contracts ~s hereby authorized
SECTION 1V That th~s ordinance shall become effective ~mmed~ately upon ~ts
passage and approval
