08302017 - Labor Day Closings (Sept. 2017) of FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DENTON Brian Daskam • (940) 349-7567 • Brian.Daskam@cityofdenton.com Labor Day Operating Hours and Closings City offices closed Monday, Sept. 4 DENTON,TX,August 30,2017-City of Denton offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of the Labor Day federal holiday. Libraries All three libraries will close on Monday, Sept. 4. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Parks and Recreation On Monday, Sept. 4 North Lakes Driving Range will be open from 9 a.m. -2 p.m. and the last bucket of golf balls will be sold at 1:30 p.m. The Civic Center Pool,Natatorium, and Water Works Park will be open regular operating hours. Denton Senior Center,Denia Rec Center,MLK Jr. Rec Center,North Lakes Rec Center,Denton Civic Center,American Legion Center, and Goldfield Tennis Center will all be closed Monday, Sept. 4. Public Safety Public safety personnel will be on duty during the holiday. The Denton Police Department can be reached at their non-emergency number which is(940)349-8181, and in case of an emergency dial 911. Solid Waste and Recycling There will be no curbside collection on Monday, Sept.4. Each collection day will move forward one day for the rest of the week. The City of Denton Landfill at ECO-W.E.R.C.S will be open from 7 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 4. Check www.dentonrecycles.com for current schedule information. Utilities Customer Service will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4 and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 5 during normal business hours. Airport Air traffic control tower services are not affected by the Holiday and will remain open from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. and the airfield will remain open 24 hours per day.
