AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING PARKING DURING
CERTAIN HOURS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF EAST SYCAMORE STREET BETWEEN
EXPOSITION STREET AND BRADSHAW STREET, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE,
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED
TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. When signs or markings are m place g~wng notice thereof, no person shall
park a vehicle between 10 00 p m and 7 00 a m upon the following street ~n the C~ty of Denton
The south side of East Sycamore Street between Exposmon Street and Bradshaw Street
~ The prows~ons of Section I prohibiting the parking of vehicles shall apply
dunng tho specffied times on the designated portion of the above named street or streets except
when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid confhct w~th other traffic or ~n comphance w~th
the d~rectlon of a police officer or official traffic control dewce
~ That all provisions of the ordinances of the C~ty of Denton ~n conflict
w~th the proms~ons of th~s ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other prowmons of the
ordinances of the City of Denton, not in conflict w~th the prows~ons of th~s ordinance, shall
remmn ~n full force and effect
~ That ff any provision of this ordinance or apphcat~on thereof to any person
or mrcumstance ~s held invalid, such mvahdaty shall not affect the other provisions or
apphcat~ons, and to th~s end the provxmons of thru ordinance are severable
~ Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in wolat~on of this
ordinance shall be gmlty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
~That tlus ordinance shall become effective tlurty (30) days from the date
or,ts passage, and the City Secretary is hereby d~rected to cause the caption of thxs ordinance to
be pubhshed twine ~n the Denton Record-Chromcle, the officml newspaper of the C~ty of
Denton, Texas, w~tlun ten (10) days of the date of~ts passage
