Section I That attached hereto Is a form of "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE
CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION OF TH~ CITY OF DENTON", the form and substance of
winch are hereby adopted and approved, and made a par~ oftlus Ordinance for all purposes
SeCtion II That the City Secretary shall cause sand NOTICE, m substantially the form
attached hereto, to be published once a week for two consecutive weeks ~n a newspaper of general
arculaiion in the City, with the date of the first pubhcat~on to be at least fifteen (15) days before the
date tentatIvely set for the passage of the Ordinance authorizing the issuance of such Certificates of
Obhgation
Section HI That tins Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval

of Obhgation Act of 1971, as amended and codified, and other applicable laws, ~n the mammum
pnnclpal amount of $5,625,000 for the purpose of paying all or a portion of the C~ty's contractual
obhgat~ons incurred pursuant to contracts for the purchase, construction and acqmsmon of certain
real and personal property, to w~t (a) a clty-w~de mfonnat~on management computer system, (b)
l~ohce depertment radio eqmpmant, (c) ranovat~ons to the Denton Mumclpal Complex, (d)
renovatmns to fire stations and (e) a c~ty-s~de automated flood warmng system, and also for the
purpose of paying all or a portmn of the City's contractual obhgat~ons for professional serwces of
engineers, attorneys, and financial adwsors m connection vath the above contracts and smd
Certificates of Obhgatlon The C~ty proposes to provide for the payment of such Certificates of
Obhgatmn fi.om the levy and collection of ad valorem taxes in the C~ty as provided by law, and fi.om
certmn r~vanues derived by the City from the ownership and operation of the City's Utlhty System
(consisting of the C~ty's combined waterworks system, samtary sewer system, and electric light and
power system) The C~ty Council of the City tentatively proposes to authorize the ~ssuance of such
Certificates of Obllgatmn at a meetm8 commencln$ at 11 00 a m on the 7th day of April, 1998, m

and seconded that said Ordinance be passed, and, after due discussion, smd motion, carrying with it
the passage of smd Ordinance, prevailed and carned by the following vote

described in the above and foregoing paragraph is attached to and follows this Certificate, that said
Ordinance has been duly recorded m said City Council's minutes of smd Meeting, that the above and
foregoing paragraph is a true, full, and correct excerpt from smd City Council's minutes of smd
Meeting pertaanng to the passage of smd Ordinance, that the persons named in the above and fore-
going paragraph are the duly chosen, qualified, and acting officers and members of smd City Council
as indicated therein, and that each of the officers and members of smd City Council was duly and
sufficiently notified officially and personally, in advance, of the time, place, and purpose of the
aforesmd Meeting, and that smd Ordinance would be introduced and considered for passage at smd
