AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE SOLE SOURCE ACQUISITION OF TWO (2) HELMET
MOUNTED THERMAL IMAGING SYSTEMS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
(PURCHASE ORDER # 83109 - CAIRNS & BROTHER, INC FOR $50,700 00)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 of the Local Government Code provides that procurement of items
that are only available from one source, mclurhng ~tems that are only avmlable from one source
because of patents, copyrights, secret processes or natural monopohes, films, manuscnpts or books,
electnmty, gas, water and other utthty purchases, captive replacement parts or components for
eqmpment, and hbrary matenals for a public hbrary that are avmlable only from the persons holding
exclusive d~stnbutxon rights to the materials, need not be submitted to competitive b~ds, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council wishes to procure one or more of the items mentioned m the above
paragraph; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the following purchases of materials, eqmpment or supphes, as described ~n
the "Purchase Orders" attached hereto, are hereby approved

SECTION II That the acceptance and approval of the above ~tems shall not constxtute a contract
between the City and the person submitting the quotation for such ~tems until such person shall
comply W~th all reqmrements specffied by the Purchasing Department
SECTION III That the C~ty Manager ~s hereby authorized to execute any contracts relating to
the items ,specified in Section I and the expenditure of funds pursuant to smd contracts ~s hereby
authonzed
~ That th~s ordinance shall become effective ~mmed~ately upon ~ts passage and
approval
