AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 815 NORTH LOCUST STREET AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK UNDER
SECTION 35-215, ARTICLE V OF CHAPTER 35 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2,000 FOR
VIOLATIONS THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WI-IEREAS, the Historic Landmark Commission and the Planning and Zomng
Commission of the City of Denton having recommended that the property hereto described be
designated as a historic landmark in the City of Denton, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. That the property located at 815 North Locust Street, being more
particularly described in Exbablt "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is
hereby designated as a historic landmark under Section 35-215, Article V of Chapter 35 of the
Code of Orchnances of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION II That stud property herein described shall be indicated upon the zomng map
of the City of Denton as a hxstone landmark by the letter "H," and the property herein described
shall be subject to all terms, provisions and requirements of Section 35-215, Article V of Chapter
35 of the' Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas, and such designation shall be in
addition to any other use designation established in the City's zomng ordinance applicable to
such property
~ That any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be fined a sum not exceeding $2,000 Each day that a provision of this ordinance is
violated shall constitute a separate and distinct offense
SECTION IV That this orchnance shall become effective fourteen (14) days fi.om the
date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this
ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chromcle, the official newspaper of the
City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage
