AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 821 NORTH LOCUST STREET AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK UNDER
SECTION 35-215, ARTICLE V, OF CHAPTER 35 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2,000 FOR
VIOLATIONS THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Historic Landmark Commission and the Planning and Zomng
Commxsslon of the City of Denton having recommended that the property herein described be
designated as a h~stonc landmark m the City of Denton, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. That the property located at 821 North Locust Street, being more
particularly described m Exhtblt "A" attached hereto and ~ncorporated here~n by reference, ~s
hereby designated as a historic landmark under Section 35-215, Article V of Chapter 35 of the
Code of Orrhnanees of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION II That smd property herein described shall be ~ndmated upon the zomng map
of the City of Denton as a historic landmark by the letter "H," and the property herein described
shall be subject to all terms, proms~ons and reqmrements of Section 35-215, Article V of Chapter
35 of the Code of Ordinances of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, and such designation shall be ~n
addition to any other use designation established in the C~ty's zoning ordmance applicable to
such property
SI~¢TION III. That any person wolatlng any provision of th~s ordinance shall, upon
convmt~on, be fined a sum not exceexhng $2,000 00 Each day that a proms~on ofth~s ordinance
~s violated shall constitute a separate and distinct offense
SECTION IV That tl~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the
date of ~ts passage, and the City Secretary is hereby d~rected to cause the caption of this
ordlnanco to be pubhshed twice m the Denton Record-Chromcle, the officml newspaper of the
City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of~ts passage
