1998-083AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF
THE CLAIM OF ALLISON CARREIRO IN AN AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING $150,000,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF 1N PAYING THE
SETTLEMENT, SUBJECT TO THE EXECUTION OF A RELEASE APPROVED AS TO FORM
BY THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the chum for damages of Allison Carrelro was subrmtted agamst the City of
Denton, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the City Cotmcll of the City of Denton, Texas believes that it is in the best
interest of the City to comprormse the chum in an amount not exceeding $150,000 to avoid the
uncertainty of trial, NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. That the proposed settlement of the chum of Allison Carrelro in an amount not
to exceed $150,000 is hereby rattfied and approved, subject to final execution of a release of all
claims by adverse parties, m a form approved by the City Attorney
SECTION II That the City Manager or Ires designee is hereby authorized to act on the
City's behalf m paymg the settlement obhgat~ons authorized herein
SECTION m *hat th~s ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval
