WHEREAS, Section 143 042 of the Local Government Code authorizes a mumcipahty to pay
assignment pay wbaeh ~s m an mount and IS payable under contht~ons set by ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the assignment pay for employees m the classfficat~on of Driver who are also
assigned to perform the duttas of MamtenanceJLogtstms Officer authorized by Orchnance No 96-
032 needs to be changed, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Fire Cluef having recommended that the Fire Department
employee m the classfficat~on Driver who ~s assigned to perform the duties of
MmntenaneegLog~stacs Officer should receive assignment pay of Seven Hundred Ninety-four
Dollars and Nmety Cents ($794 90) per month, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the F~re Department employee classified Driver who is assigned to
perform the duties of Mmntenance/Logtstics Officer shall receive assignment pay of Seven Hundred
Ninety-four Dollars and Ninety Cents ($794 90) per month ~n addition to the regular monthly salary
of Driver
~ That tins ordinance shall amend and replace Ordinance No 96-032, and
Ordinance No 96-032 is hereby repealed and is of no further force and effect
~ That th~s ordinance shall become effective immediately upon ~ts passage and
approval
