1998-095AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 96-076 BY AUTHORIZING ASSIGN-
MENT PAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE IN THE CLASSIFICATION OF
CAPTAIN WHO IS ALSO ASSIGNED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF INFORMATION
MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR, PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Section 143 042 of the Local Government Code authonzas a munlelpahty to pay
assignment pay winch is ~n an amount and is payable under condmons set by ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the assignment pay for the classification of Captain m the Fire Department
authorized by Ordinance No 96-076 needs to be changed, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and F~re Chief hawng recommended that the Ftre Department
employee m the classlficataon of Captmn who ~s assigned to perform the duties of Information
Management Coordinator should mce~ve assignment pay of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars and No
Cents ($250 00) per month, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the F~re Department employee classified as Captmn who is assigned to
perform the duties of Information Management Coorchnator shall receive assignment pay of Two
Hundred Fffiy Dollars and No Cents ($250 00) per month in addition to the regular monthly salary
of Captain
SECTION II That tins ordinance shall amend and replace Ordinance No 96-076, and
Ordinance No 96-076 ~s hereby repealed and is of no further fome and effect
~ That tins ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval
