MENT PAY FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE IN THE CLASSIFICATION OF
CAPTAIN WHO IS ALSO ASSIGNED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF EMS PROGRAM
MANAGER, PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE

WI-IEREAS, Section 143 042 of the Local Government Code authorizes a mumclpality to
pay assignment pay wlueh is m an amount and is payable under conditions set by ordinance, and
WI-1EREAS, the assignment pay for the classification of Captmn who is also assigned to
perform the duties of EMS Program Manager by Ordinance No 96-237 needs to be changed, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Fire Cluef having recommended that the Fire Department
employee m the elasslficaUon of Captain who is assigned to perform the duties of EMS Program
Manager should receive assignment pay of Five Hundred Ninety-three Dollars and Ninety-five
Cents ($593 95) per month, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the F~re Department employee classified as Captain who is assigned to
perform the duties of EMS Program Manager shall receive assignment pay of Five Hundred
Ninety-three Dollars and Ninety-five Cents ($593 95) per month in addmon to the regular monthly
salary of Captmn
SECTION II That flus ordinance shall amend and replace Ordinance No 96-237, and
Ordinance No 96-237 is hereby repealed and is of no further force and effect
SECTION III That flus ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval
