1998-112AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING LEASE AMENDMENT NO 1 TO THE LEASE
BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND GREATER DENTON ARTS COUNCIL, INC
DATED SEPTEMBER 1, 1981 RELATING TO THE WAREHOUSE AND MACHINE SHOP
AND ELECTRIC DIESEL PLANT LOCATED ON HICKORY STREET AT ITS
INTERSECTION WITH BELL AVENUE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ That the Mayor as hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the C~ty of
Denton a Lease Amendment No 1 to the lease between the Greater Denton Arts Council, Inc,
dated September 1, 1981 relating to the warehouse and machine shop and electric d~esel plant
located on H~cko~ Street at ~ts ~ntersectlon w~th Bell Avenue, a copy of such amendment is
attached hereto and ~ncorporated by reference hereto
~ That th~s ordinance shall become effective ~mmedmtely upon ItS passage
and approval

LEASE AMENDEMENT NO ONE
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF DENTON
WHEREAS, the Cay of Denton ("Lessor") and the Greater Denton Arts Council, Ine
("Lessee") have entered into a long term lease arrangement dated September l, 1981 (the
"Lease"), and
WHEREAS, Lessor and Lessee desire to amend and modify the Levae as hereinafter
provided
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual exchange of promises and
covenants contained hereto, the pames agree as follows
1 The provlsmns under the Lease, where~n the leased premises as defined and
described are hereby amended to delete all references to "the elecmc d~esel plant
property located on Hmkory Street at its ~ntersect~on w~th Bell Avenue" (the
"power plant")
2 All other references to the property or premxses being leased that are contmned ~n
the Lease shall hereafter be defined and hm~ted to the property described in
Seetxon I of the Lease as "the warehouse and machine shop property located on
Hickory Street at its intersection w~th Bell Avenue" Prows~ons of the Lease
wbaeh deal exclusively w~th the power plant property shall be considered null and
void
All other provisions of the Lease whmh are not in conflmt w~th th~s Amendment shall
remmn in full force and effect
