patient will be charged and billed In accordance with the schedule of prices and charges
attached to and made a part of th~s ordinance for all purposes as Exhibit "A"
~ That the City shall charge an emergency ambulance standby fee of mxty
e~ght dollars ($68 00) per hour with a four (4) hour minimum for the use of any City of Denton
emergency ambulance for standby at special events such as football games, rodeos, concerts, etc
If any patient ts transported, the other fees in the ordinance shall be charged as incurred
~ That a copy of this schedule of fees and the annual medicat~on and
d~sposal of goods schedule of fees shall be maintained on file in the office of the City Secretary
~ That all ordinance or parts of ordinance In force when the provisions of
tins ordinance become effective which are ~nconslstent or in conflict w~th the terms or provisions
contained In this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict
~ That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word in this ordinance, or apphcatlon thereof to any person or c~rcumstance ~s held invalid by
any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining
port~ons of this ordinance, the City Councd of the City of Denton hereby declares that they
would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such mvahdlty

AMBULANCE SERVICES IN THE CITY AS PROVIDED FOR IN SEC 27-102 OF
ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 27 "VEHICLES FOR H1RE" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Denton has analyzed and studied Its fees for emergency
ambulance services, and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton should operate a cost-effective and efficient emergency
mechcal service, and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton desires to change its Health Care Finance Admlmstratlon
(HCFA) Method from HCFA Method #3 to HCFA Method #4, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ That fees are hereby estabhshed for emergency ambulance services in the
City provided pursuant to Sec 27-102 of the Code of Ordinances as follows
1 A bamc ~anspo~aUon fee of ~vo hundred tiny dollars ($250 00) will be charged each patient
who is a resident of the C~W of Danton ~anspo~ed from the scene of an emergency to a City
of Denton or Denton County hospital In addltmn, a fee of three dollars ($3 00) per mile
from,the incident location to the recmvmg hospital will be charged

WHEREAS, the City of Denton has analyzed and studied its fees for emergency
ambulance services, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty of Denton should operate a cost-effective and efficient emergency
medical service, and

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That Ordinance No~8-21'3[ enacted by the C~ty Councd on July 28, 1998,
~s hereby amended, repealed and replaced by hereby approving and estabhstung the following
fees for emergency ambulance services in the C~ty pursuant to Sec 27-102 of the Code of
Ordinances as follows
1 A basic transportatxon fee of Three Hundred Dollars ($300 00) wall be charged each
patient who ~s a resident of the C~ty of Denton transported from the scene of an
emergency to an appropriate mechcal care famhty In addition, a fee of Sxx Dollars
($6 00) per mile from the incident location to the rece~mng hospital wall be charged
2 A basic transportation fee of Three Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars ($375 00) wall be
charged each patient who is a non-resxdent of the C~ty of Denton transported from the
scene of an emergency to an appropriate medical care famhty In addxt~on, a fee of Sxx
Dollars ($6 00) per mile from the incident location to the rece~mng hospital will be
charged
3 Additional fees, if ~ncurred, shall be charged as follows
a $30 00 fee for bandagmg/sphntmg
b $30 00 fee for cardxac momtonng
c $36 00 fee for cardloverslon
d $60 00 fee for admm~stenng Cardlo Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
e $36 O0 fee for defibrillation

Denton ambulance will be charged and billed in accordance w~th the schedule of

as Exlub~t "A"
SECTION 2 That the C~ty shall charge an Emergency Ambulance Standby fee of
Seventy-~x Dollars ($76 00) per hour w~th a four (4) hour m~mmum for the use of any C~ty of
Denton ~xnergency ambulance for standby at specml events such as football games, rodeos,
concerts, 'etc If any patient ~s transported, the other fees ~n the ordinance shall be charged as
~ncurred
SECTION 3 That a copy of flus schedule of fees and the annual medmatmn and d~sposal
of goods schedule of fees shall be mmntmned on file ~n the office of the C~ty Secretary
SECTION 4 That all ordinance or parts of ordinance m force when the prowsmns of flus
ordinance become effective which are ~ncons~stent or ~n conflict w~th the terms or prowsmns
contmned ~n flus ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict
SECTION 5 That ~f any sectmn, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word ~n tins ordinance, or apphcatmn thereof to any person or c~rcumstance ~s held ~nvahd by
any court of competent junsdmt~on, such holding shall not affect the vahd~ty of the remmmng
pomons of flus ordinance, the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares that
they wo~41d have enacted such rematmng portions despite any such ~nvahd~ty
